We had a great day of work this week tackling a pruning job that had a little bit of everything — and the end result was one of those transformations that just puts a smile on your face. We worked through several trees on the property, starting with some that had branches creeping a little too close to the roofline. Branches hanging over a roof might not seem like a big deal at first, but over time they can cause some real headaches with shingles and gutters, so getting that clearance taken care of was a smart move by the homeowners. From there we moved on to clearing out all the dead wood scattered throughout the canopy of several other trees — and just like always, stripping out that dead material made an immediate and noticeable difference in the overall health and appearance of every tree we touched.
We also spent time carefully pruning back and thinning out the canopy on a few trees that had slowly taken over what used to be a beautiful lake view. It's amazing how much tree growth can sneak up on you over the years, and by making the right cuts in the right places we were able to open that view back up in a really significant way. Clean roof clearance, healthier trees, and a gorgeous lake view restored — not a bad day's work by any measure.
If your trees are crowding your roof, looking a little rough around the edges, or blocking a view you paid good money to have, it might be time to give them some attention. Pruning done right is one of the best investments you can make in your property — it keeps your trees healthy, protects your home, and can completely change the way your outdoor space looks and feels.
