We had a great day of tree work this week knocking out a couple of jobs that complemented each other really nicely — the removal of a small rotten maple and a canopy pruning on a large silver maple that was overdue for some attention. The rotten maple was first on the list, and while it was a smaller tree, rotten wood is always something that warrants a careful and deliberate approach since it can be unpredictable when you get into it. We worked through it carefully, got it down cleanly, and had the area tidied up quickly before moving on to the main event — a big silver maple that was ready for a good canopy pruning.
Silver maples are fast growers that can develop a really dense and heavy canopy over the years, and this one was no exception. We worked through the canopy methodically, thinning things out, removing dead wood, and lifting the canopy in a way that immediately improved both the look and the overall health of the tree. A well pruned silver maple is a really stunning thing, and by the time we finished working through this one it was looking clean, open, and significantly better than when we arrived. It's the kind of result that makes a big difference in how the whole property looks and feels.
If you've got a rotten or declining tree that needs to come down, or a large maple that could use some canopy work this season, Rooted Treeworks is the crew to call. We handle both ends of the spectrum and bring the same level of care and quality to every job no matter what's on the list. Give us a call and let's talk about what your trees might need!
