Three trees. One front yard, two in the back. All of them massive, all of them positioned close to the home and surrounding structures. This was one of the bigger removal jobs we've taken on in Minneapolis, and it required serious planning before anyone touched a chainsaw.
When trees get this large - and this close to a house, deck, or fence line - you can't just start cutting and hope for the best. That's exactly why we brought in a 120-ton crane for this one. It lets us lift and control each section as it comes down, rather than dropping weight in unpredictable directions. The result is a cleaner, safer removal with a lot less risk to everything around it.
The trees themselves were clearly past the point of no return. Significant dieback, bare upper canopy, bark showing the kind of wear that tells you the tree isn't coming back. A dead or declining tree that size sitting near a structure isn't just an eyesore - it's a liability. Getting them out now, on your terms, beats waiting for a storm to make that decision for you.
Once the trees were down, we ground out every stump down to the soil. No partial work, no leftover hazards poking up through the grass. The homeowner ends up with ground that's actually usable - whether that turns into new lawn, a garden bed, or just open space, it's ready to go.
Jobs like this don't happen without the right equipment and a crew that knows how to use it. Minneapolis has a lot of older, heavily treed properties where situations like this come up more than people expect. If you've got a tree on your property that's been on your radar, this is the kind of work we do every week.
